374 miles (603 Km) south of Millwood House
York is a favourite stop off point for many tourists who
head northwards to the wild and splendid scenery of the Scottish
Highlands. The roads north from here are excellent - the A1 main arterial
road joins the M6 motorway at Scotch corner which takes you up to join the
A9 which goes all the way to Inverness. Many tourists tour Scotland and
the highlands by road, stopping at bed and breakfast establishments along
the way. It is an opportunity to see many of the quaint country places.
